Muito em geral, e nesse caso n\u00e3o \u00e9 diferente, estive ao seu lado, quanto a necessidade pol\u00edticas de sa\u00fade o mais abrangentes poss\u00edvel, de comprovada efic\u00e1cia. Mas em algum momento, o atual governo do Brasil, que sempre teve esse compromisso e para quem eu fiz campanha desde meu primeiro voto aos 16 anos, passa a falar como o pr\u00f3prio governo da China, por exemplo no G7, e mais recentemente em no lan\u00e7amento de sua campanha, quando parece se dirigir a mim, quando diz: “N\u00e3o precisa estudar ci\u00eancias sociais e direito [como eu cursei], v\u00e1 estudar matem\u00e1tica, v\u00e1 para China, seu filho da m\u00e3e!” Por que? Porque em algum momento a h\u00e1 diverg\u00eancia sobre a liberdade de express\u00e3o, quando eu digo, que sim, deve haver uma pol\u00edtica tribut\u00e1ria capaz de proteger empregos nacionais, quando produtos acabados chegam no Brasil da China, com uma rec\u00e9m proposta lei de isen\u00e7\u00e3o tributaria para esses produtos at\u00e9 50 d\u00f3lares, quando eles chegam acabados no Brasil a 5 d\u00f3lares. \u00c9 um relato hist\u00f3rico do mais c\u00e9lebre da hist\u00f3ria do Brasil que vivemos diversos ciclos agr\u00e1rios sem nunca conseguir desenvolvimento industrial. Mas que isso, sou neurodivergente, como Greta Thunberg, embora ela seja autista, e eu disl\u00e9xico, com enorme regress\u00e3o desde que deixei de conviver com meus pais, e me tornei a lideran\u00e7a estudantil mais destacada do pa\u00eds. Isso gera uma outra quest\u00e3o, talvez at\u00e9 agravada pela pris\u00e3o de Lula, mas j\u00e1 existente, da descren\u00e7a nas for\u00e7as regulares de seguran\u00e7a do pa\u00eds, e de um partidarismo velado por Republicanos na sua primeira elei\u00e7\u00e3o, a um discurso antiamericano digno dos mais cl\u00e1ssicos tiranos cat\u00f3licos da Am\u00e9rica Latina. Nesse meio tempo sou sujeito a in\u00fameras pris\u00f5es ilegais, tortura, sem conseguir mais nenhum suporte familiar ou estatal, pelo contrario, ao fim desse processo de suporte partid\u00e1rio em for\u00e7as paraestatais, eu sofro um processo jur\u00eddico de persegui\u00e7\u00e3o, que visa ca\u00e7ar meus direitos civis todos, como direito de casar, de ter contas em bancos, e at\u00e9 de votar e ser votado. Sem nunca ter contra\u00eddo dividas, ou pior, ser plenamente ilegal que eu n\u00e3o possa me casar ou votar e ser votado. Ao mesmo tempo que n\u00e3o s\u00f3 passo a ter essa diverg\u00eancia sobre desindustrializa\u00e7\u00e3o do pais, as pol\u00edticas ambientais, como o Fundo Amaz\u00f4nia, simplesmente favorecem as queimadas da floresta tropical, premiam os investidores do mesmo quando elas ocorrem, no limite \u00e9 extin\u00e7\u00e3o da floresta e reuni\u00e3o de seus potencial compradores da terra arrasada. Quer dizer, um advogado, aprovado em todos os testes de sua categoria, com estudos aprofundados em ci\u00eancias sociais, com severas criticas a algumas pol\u00edticas, n\u00e3o exatamente a sa\u00fade, mas ao aparato paraestatal de repress\u00e3o e tortura m\u00e9dica que bem conhece e do que \u00e9 vitima no Brasil.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Generally speaking\u2014and this case is no exception\u2014I have stood by him regarding the need for the most comprehensive and proven health policies possible. However, at some point, Brazil’s current government\u2014to which I have always been committed and for which I have campaigned since casting my first vote at age 16\u2014began speaking like the Chinese government itself. This was evident at the G7 summit and, more recently, at his campaign launch, where he seemed to be addressing me directly when he said: “You don’t need to study social sciences or law [as I did]; go study mathematics, go to China, you son of a bitch!” Why? Because a disagreement arose regarding freedom of expression and my stance that there should indeed be a tax policy capable of protecting domestic jobs\u2014specifically concerning finished goods arriving in Brazil from China (such as the recently proposed tax exemption for items under $50) that land here fully manufactured at a cost of just $5 dollars. This reflects a historic narrative in Brazil: we have lived through various agrarian cycles without ever achieving industrial development. Furthermore, I am neurodivergent\u2014like Greta Thunberg, though she is autistic and I am dyslexic\u2014and I have experienced significant regression since I stopped living with my parents and became the country’s most prominent student leader. This raises another issue\u2014perhaps exacerbated by Lula’s imprisonment but pre-existing nonetheless\u2014regarding a lack of faith in the country’s regular security forces and a shift from the veiled partisanship seen during the Republicans’ first election to an anti-American rhetoric worthy of Latin America’s most classic Catholic tyrants. During this time, I was subjected to countless illegal arrests and torture, receiving no support from family or the state; on the contrary, following a period of partisan backing for parastatal forces, I faced a campaign of legal persecution aimed at stripping me of all my civil rights\u2014such as the right to marry, hold bank accounts, and even vote or run for office. This occurred despite my never having incurred debt; indeed, it is entirely unlawful to deny me the right to marry, vote, or stand for election. At the same time, I found myself at odds with the country’s deindustrialization and environmental policies\u2014such as the Amazon Fund, which effectively encourages rainforest burning and rewards investors when such fires occur, ultimately paving the way for the forest’s destruction and the gathering of potential buyers for the scorched land. In short, I am a lawyer\u2014qualified by all professional standards and deeply versed in the social sciences\u2014who has voiced harsh criticism regarding certain policies; my objections are not directed at healthcare itself, but rather at the parastatal apparatus of repression and medical torture\u2014a system I know all too well, having been one of its victims in Brazil.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
