REUTERS\/Rick Wilking Purchase Licensing Rights<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n June 29 (Reuters) – Warren Buffett is skipping his usual mid-year multibillion-dollar donation to the Gates Foundation as he waits \u200bto see the findings of a review by the \u200cfoundation of its ties to late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, the Wall Street Journal reported on Monday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The foundation has been mired in controversy \u200bdue to Chairman Bill Gates’ association with Epstein. A \u200brelease of emails in January by the U.S. Justice \u2060Department also showed communication between Epstein and the Gates Foundation’s \u200bstaff.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Gates Foundation CEO Mark Suzman commissioned an external review \u202fto assess past \u200bfoundation engagement with Epstein. The findings are expected in the summer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Buffett is delaying his donation decision until later in the year, possibly until when \u200bhe puts out his Thanksgiving letter, the WSJ report said, \u200bciting people familiar with Buffett’s plans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Reuters could not immediately verify the report. \u200cBerkshire \u2060Hathaway and the Gates Foundation did not immediately respond to a Reuters’ request for comment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Buffett, the 95-year-old chairman of Berkshire Hathaway (BRKa.N)<\/a>, opens new tab<\/a>, has in the last two decades donated more than $47 billion \u200bof the conglomerate’s \u200bstock to the \u2060Gates Foundation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Microsoft (MSFT.O)<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n , opens new tab<\/a> co-founder Bill Gates saw his reputation tarnished following the Department of Justice’s release \u200bof files about Epstein in February.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Gates, 70, has \u200bnot been \u2060accused of any crimes.
